big_kev Posted June 12, 2009 Report Posted June 12, 2009 can someone tell me do these galaxy ever work without something going wrong, Nah ! However it sounds like it may be the resistor pack or hedghog unit ( not its real name ).Situated behind the glove box...easily removed without tools. Probably burnt out.....may be repairable. Quote

big_kev Posted June 12, 2009 Report Posted June 12, 2009 would that just stop the front blower because the rear one works fine, Yes the rear heater has its own one. Basically the resistor pack( manual aircon) and hedghog (automatic aircon) fitted next to the fans (front and back) and depending on the fan speed setting reduces the voltage to the individual fan. It has a tendency to get very hot and burnt out which means no voltage to the particular fan. Whip your glove box out and have a look....the unit might be hot. If you have automatic aircon ( electronic unit in the front) then the hedgehogs in the front and rear are the same and you could always swap them over to double check ! Quote
